Staff Profile

This is Ms. Wood's 19^th year as an EL teacher and her eighth year at EXPO Elementary School. Allison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Journalism from UW-Madison. She earned her K-12 ESL license and a Master's degree from Hamline University.

Outside of school, Allison enjoys reading, shopping and spending time outdoors.  She loves to travel with her family and spends most school breaks in Door County, Wisconsin or southern Florida. Allison likes coffee, Peloton classes, movies and playing the flute. Allison is also a children's book author. Her first book, Sprinkles, was released in June, 2022.

Allison’s husband, Chris, is also an educator with SPPS. They have a 16-year-old son and a rescue dog. Ms. Wood and her family reside in the Northeast metro area.  

Ms. Wood is excited to be a part of the academic and social growth that students will experience this school year.  She enjoys partnering with EXPO's students, families, staff and community.
