Staff Profile
Mackenzie Uher
Mrs. Uher has been teaching for fifteen years; all but one have been with elementary school students in Saint Paul Public Schools. She taught fifth grade for the first eleven years and moved into a new role at EXPO as a WINN (What Individuals Need Now) teacher in 2021. This year, she’s taking on a similar role as a specialized reading intervention teacher using SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words). Students will be learning important foundations for reading—both how to read words that can be sounded out and how to read “sight words” (words learned at a glance as some do not follow the rules of phonics or only partly follow the rules).
Outside of school, Mrs. Uher enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, and fishing.
