Leadership Update at EXPO Elementary

Dear EXPO Elementary School Community,

I am writing to share important news for EXPO Elementary School. I have appointed Mr. Craig Anderson as your new principal, beginning July 1, 2026.

Mr. Anderson brings a wealth of experience to EXPO that is rooted in SPPS schools, staff and students. As a former principal and longtime educator in SPPS, Mr. Anderson understands what it takes to foster a strong school community — one where every child has a true sense of belonging, staff is supported, and a high standard for learning exists. Currently, he serves as the district’s executive director of teaching and learning, where he works alongside school leaders across SPPS. 

This appointment means there is a change in the previously communicated selection process. What hasn’t changed is our commitment to ensuring that EXPO has a leader who combines deep instructional knowledge with a genuine commitment to community. Mr. Anderson brings both, and he is excited to join the already strong EXPO community.

I want to thank our interim principal, Elzbieta (Ela) Murphy for her service to EXPO students, staff and families this year and throughout this transition. 

We know that great schools are built on relationships. Mr. Anderson is committed to building a collaborative culture from day one. Over the next few months, Mr. Anderson will be reaching out to introduce himself and begin connecting with students, families and staff.
