Leadership Change at EXPO Elementary

Dear EXPO Elementary Community,
I am writing to let you know that Principal Bjoraker has informed us that he has accepted a district level administrative position in another district. I’d like to thank Principal Bjoraker for his service to EXPO as well as Saint Paul Public Schools. Principal Bjoraker’s last day will be Thursday, October 2.
Due to the timing of this announcement, we are naming an Interim Principal for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year. I am pleased to announce that a familiar face at EXPO, Interim Principal Elzbieta (Ela) Murphy will start at EXPO on Monday, September 29, and will work closely with Assistant Superintendent Nancy Páez throughout the transition. Interim Principal Murphy will also spend time planning the transition with Principal Bjoraker. Saint Paul Public Schools will provide ongoing administrative support to EXPO.
Interim Principal Murphy served as EXPO assistant principal from 2019 through 2021, and again from 2022 through 2025. She recently joined Eastern Heights Elementary as assistant principal. I am happy to welcome her home to EXPO. Prior to working as an assistant principal, Interim Principal Murphy served as a supervisor in the SPPS Office of Multilingual Learning, and as an English Learner teacher within SPPS. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University, and Master of Arts in Education from Hamline University, and an Education Specialist Degree from Mankato State University.
We are committed to finding an exceptional full-time school leader for the Expo community. Early next spring, we will form a committee of school community members who will play an important role in selecting a full-time principal for EXPO Elementary. I will keep you informed throughout this process.
