Why Do EXPO Parents Volunteer?
EXPO Elementary is known for its strong, involved community of families. Parents who volunteer to help with even one thing--big, medium or small; either on EXPO's campus or helping from home, keep our EXPO community strong and growing.
What's your why? Here are reasons some parents said "Yes!" to volunteering at EXPO Elementary School or with our EXPO Council of Parents and Teachers:
"I waited to volunteer with the EXPO council until both of our kids attended due to feeling my time was limited. I wish I would have started sooner, because it really is as much of a commitment as you want it to be. I enjoy volunteering in part because my kids love all the community events; but also, for myself, I've met so many more parents and staff as a volunteer. We loved EXPO before, but we feel even more connected to the school and integrated in Saint Paul since I started volunteering." -Sara, mom to two EXPO students
"I started by volunteering in the library and for occasional book fair sales shifts. I took over as yearbook editor when my daughter was in 2nd grade, because I still remember I didn't get a yearbook in 2nd grade because no parents at my school volunteered. I keep volunteering because I've developed real friendships with other parents, and I want EXPO to be even stronger for my son, who will start Kindergarten in a couple years."
