Speech & Language

- Articulation (pronouncing speech sounds)
- Stuttering
- Language skills
- Voice disorders
- Assistive communication technology
Students qualify for school speech-language services from an SLP through a special education evaluation. Services may be provided in the classroom or in a small-group setting. We also work with teachers to support their teaching of communication skills for all students.
If you have concerns about your child's speech or language development, you can talk with your child's teacher or contact us directly. In many cases, we can screen students to help determine next steps, including how the teacher can support the student in the classroom.
Highlights of Speech & Language at EXPO:
- We help students who stutter connect with same-age peers as well as older and younger students who stutter.
- We provide support for use of district-loaned and personally-owned high tech communication devices.
- Multiple SLPs who work as a team to pool our experience and knowledge to best serve students.
- We collaborate with SLPs across the district who specialize in and consult on less-c common speech-language disorders.
-
We specialize in articulation support to help students in PreK through grade 5 clearly pronounce sounds and build confident communication skills through targeted, engaging therapy.
