Pre-K
Welcome to Pre-K!

Pre-K teachers: Ms. Kata, Ms. Sweet, Ms. Gracie & Ms. Mingyu
Our Pre-K program nurtures the whole child through hands-on play, social-emotional growth, and a head start on academics. As the foundational building blocks of our school, we are dedicated to creating a joyful learning community and building lasting relationships with every student and family!
Overview of our Pre-K Program at EXPO:
- Focuses on the Whole Child: We support every part of a child's growth, including their physical health, emotions, social skills, and brain development.
- Built on Proven Research: Our curriculum follows official learning standards and uses data to make sure every lesson is effective and tailored to each student's needs.
- Blends Play with Purpose: We balance fun, child-led play with focused small-group lessons to build strong foundations in reading, writing, and math.
- Creates a Safe, Supportive Space: By using steady routines and building positive, inclusive relationships, we help children feel safe and confident enough to take risks in their learning.
- Encourages Deep-Thinking: Instead of just memorizing facts, children explore big ideas through hands-on projects and investigations that prepare them for Kindergarten.
- Partners with Families: We value the unique background of every family and treat parents and caregivers as essential partners in their child's education.
Learning Goals in Pre-K at EXPO:
- Growing Independence: Helping children gain the confidence to do things on their own.
- Early Academics: Teaching the foundational building blocks of reading, writing, and math.
- Social Connection: Creating a space to play, share, and make new friends.
- Self-Regulation: Learning how to manage big feelings and be part of a classroom community.
