Strong Academic Foundations:

Our academic approach utilizes the Science of Reading framework for literacy, implementing UFLI Phonics in grades K-2 and F.I.R.E. Framework in grades 3-5 to accelerate all students towards grade-level reading proficiency. Our Math HMH Curriculum is used to emphasize deep conceptual development, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. We believe in Strong Partnerships with Families, which is fundamental to our success. The active EXPO Council of Parents and Teachers helps create a vibrant school community by hosting engaging events throughout the year, including Movie Night, Dance Night, the Silent Auction, Bingo Night, the Coin Challenge and our Good in the Hood Event. Social-Emotional Learning:

Crucial to our environment is Social-Emotional Learning. EXPO staff work together to create a supportive environment where students can grow both academically and emotionally. We utilize Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), the Zones of Regulation, Playworks, and Positive Greetings to help students build essential skills such as managing emotions, showing empathy, and developing strong relationships.

Enrichment and Extracurriculars:

Finally, we offer rich Enrichment and Extracurriculars. Our program includes Enrichment Residencies in Science and Art, partnerships with Midwest Food Connections, and many more. A significant highlight is the week-long Boundary Waters Camp Widji Adventure for all 5th grade students.
