ABOUT

EXPO Elementary School is a PreK-5th grade school in St. Paul's Highland Park Neighborhood. EXPO is community-focused and builds strong relationships between students, families, and staff. 

Our teachers use the Science of Reading approach to help students build a strong literacy foundation through explicit phonics instruction, word recognition, and language comprehension. 

Our science classes include emphasize outdoor learning experiences and EXPO is proud to have our students grow and maintain our edible garden and beautiful  flower gardens.

At EXPO, students learn not just academics but also social and emotional skills. We have a strong social-emotional program where our counselors create and teach lessons in classrooms that focus on healthy mindset and behaviors that support student mental, social/emotional, and physical well-being.   

School-wide, we offer specialist teachers for physical education, art, and science. Accelerated math is offered for grades 3-5. We also have rotating residency programs which have included music, art, technology/science, and Minnesota-focused foods.

Your child's experience at EXPO will include:

• Leadership year: In grade 5, our oldest students take on greater responsibility and attend Camp Widji in the Boundary Waters. Learn more about Camp Widji here.
• Specialist classes: We offer physical education, art, and outdoor-focused science to all grades. Accelerated math is offered for grades 3-5. Learn more about specialist classes here.
• Music programs: We offer rotating music residencies and after-school music classes and lessons.
• EXPO playground:  Our playground was built and is maintained by parents for our school and neighborhood.
